日本玩具博物館
Japan Toy Museum sits in a rural area about 10 km northeast of Himeji Castle and houses roughly 90,000 toy materials from Japan and about 160 countries and regions across six storehouse-style buildings. Official history says director Shigeyoshi Inoue began collecting local folk toys in 1963 after learning that children’s cultural heritage was disappearing, and opened the Inoue Folk Toy Museum on 10 November 1974. The museum also presents seasonal special exhibitions of festival dolls and historic Kobe dolls.
