御金神社

Mikane Shrine stands near Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace in central Kyoto. The shrine says it enshrines Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto, a deity associated with metals and minerals. Though once a private estate shrine, official history notes that the present sanctuary was built in Meiji 16 (1883) with broad local support as worshippers continued to visit.
