Morooka Kumano Shrine

師岡熊野神社

Located in Yokohama, Morooka Kumano Shrine is a Shinto shrine established in 724. It serves as a center for Kumano worship in the Kanto region and houses deities associated with the three Kumano shrines in Wakayama Prefecture. The site features historical elements such as the Tōge Shinji ritual, which has continued for over 1,000 years. The grounds include the main hall, a worship hall, and the Morooka Kumano Museum housing approximately 2,000 items including archaeological materials and swords.
