Jōnan-gū is a major shrine in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, at 7 Nakajima Tobarikyu-cho, known for warding off misfortune and evil directions. Founded south of Kyoto when the capital moved in the Heian period, it has a history of about 1,200 years. Visitors pray for household harmony, safety, and car blessings. The shrine garden features weeping plum, camellia, cherry, wisteria, azalea, and autumn foliage, with seasonal events such as kyokusui banquets and shrine maiden kagura. Telephone 075-623-0846.
