Funai Castle

Funai Castle in Oita is a flatland castle site once facing the sea between the Oita and Sumiyoshi rivers. Official city pages describe a domain residence and warrior quarters, with the surviving Shumon Yagura and Hitojichi Yagura designated as prefectural cultural properties. The Otemon was reconstructed in 1966 after wartime loss. Confirm site access and any special openings before you visit.
