Shitaya Shrine in Taito, Tokyo, is described on its official site as the oldest Inari shrine in the capital, founded in the Nara period. Its enshrined deity Otoshi-no-kami, a child of Susanoo-no-Mikoto and sibling line to Amaterasu-omikami, governs the five grains, protects industry, and is honored for business prosperity and household safety. The shrine office at 3-29-8 Higashi-Ueno accepts inquiries from 9:00 to 16:00, telephone 03-3831-1488. Seasonal limited goshuin are announced for events such as the grand festival in May and summer visits in July.
