Araya Yama Shrine in Fuji-Yoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, stands on the northern foot of Mount Fuji in the Araya district and is described on its official site as a mountain shrine dedicated chiefly to Oyamatsumi-no-Mikoto, with Amaterasu and Konohanasakuyahime also enshrined. Tradition dates its founding to 17 October 1534, with the annual festival on the same date. The shrine is locally called Yam-no-kami-sama and is said to grant blessings for commerce and agriculture. Its rear shrine sits at the second station on Mount Fuji at 4-2-2 Araya, Fuji-Yoshida.
