Located in Hokkaido, the Nemuro City Museum of History and Nature collects, preserves, and exhibits materials related to the history and nature of Nemuro City and its surrounding areas. The collection includes archaeological artifacts from local sites, records regarding the arrival of the first Russian envoy to Japan, and border stones from Karafuto. Natural specimens such as Blakiston's fish owls and sea otters are also displayed. The museum is housed in a brick building constructed in 1942.
