Tsunan-machi Folk Historical Museum introduces the history and culture of Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture. Its storage displays production and daily-life tools gathered mainly from Akiyama-go and the wider area, including utensils suited to a heavy-snow region; mountain-village production tools from around Akiyama-go are designated Important Cultural Property. A thatched folk house that is a town-designated cultural property stands on the grounds, preserved without later remodeling. The reinforced-concrete two-story storage mainly shows 1,686 nationally designated folk tools. The museum has been closed since 28 December 2024 while displays are prepared for the Tsunan Town Buried Cultural Properties Center.
