Shirakawa City Museum (Shirakawa City History and Folklore Museum) opened in Showa 54 and introduces the history and culture of the Shirakawa area. Closed Mondays (open if Monday is a holiday), the day after holidays, and December 28–January 4. Admission is free, though special exhibitions may charge. Permanent displays cover archaeology, Komine Castle and castle-town materials, Matsudaira Sadanobu, and the Boshin War. Confirm calendars before travel.
