Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine in Tokyo dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Established in 1920, it stands within a large forest created through donations of trees from across Japan. Long gravel approaches lead through torii gates to the main sanctuary, creating a quiet setting beside the busy districts of Harajuku and Shibuya.
