Jozankei Onsen

定山渓温泉

Jozankei Onsen is a hot-spring district in a steep valley of the Toyohira River, southwest of central Sapporo. Founded in the nineteenth century, it developed as a mountain retreat surrounded by forested slopes. Footbaths, riverside paths, bridges, and viewpoints connect the town with the valley scenery, which is especially prominent during autumn foliage and winter snow.
