Located in Kanazawa City, the Higashi Chaya District is a designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Situated on the east bank of the Asanogawa River, this area was established as a tea house district in 1820. The landscape features a series of traditional tea house buildings constructed between the late Edo period and early Meiji era, characterized by first-floor lattices and second-story seating areas.
