Kusatsu-juku Honjin is a historic inn complex from the Edo post-station system, where daimyo and court nobles once lodged while traveling. Official city pages call it one of the largest surviving honjin buildings in Japan and note that it still conveys the atmosphere of elite travel along the old highways. Inside exhibits, seasonal programs, and guide apps help visitors understand how the building worked. Confirm admission hours and any temporary storm closures on the city site before combining a visit with a walk around Kusatsu.
