Located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, Shimogamo Shrine is also known as Kamomioya Jinja. The shrine houses Kamo Taketsunumi no Mikoto, a deity associated with the development of Kyoto, in the West Hall. The East Hall enshrines Tamayori-hime no Mikoto, who is identified as the offspring of the deity in the West Hall.
