日光東照宮
Nikkō Tōshō-gū enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Tokugawa shogun, and was established in Genna 3 (1617) according to its official site. The shrine explains the transfer from Mount Kuno, the formal enshrinement ceremony, later palace titles, and rebuilding under the third shogun that shaped the present richly decorated precincts. It also notes UNESCO World Heritage registration in 1999, visitor guidance for precincts and facilities, and conservation of the Nikko cedar avenue.
