Nishida Museum of Art opened in September 1993 around artworks personally collected overseas by Yasumasa Nishida of Fuji Chemical Industry. Official about pages say the collection of more than 600 ceramics and sculptures spanning the ancient Orient via the Silk Road to China is rare nationally, and that many works by Nyuzen-born modern mandala painter Josaku Maeda let visitors encounter Western and Eastern worlds of prayer together.
