Opened in 1924, the Kyoto Botanical Garden is the oldest public botanical garden in Japan. The grounds feature approximately 500 cherry trees that bloom in spring and various trees such as maple, hou, and ginkgo that display autumn colors. The facility focuses on biodiversity conservation and houses a wide variety of plant species.
