Shizuhatagayama Kofun

Historic sites

賤機山古墳

Shizuhatagayama Kofun is a nationally designated historic site on the south end of Shizuhatayama, overlooking the Shizuoka plain from a ridge about 50 meters above sea level. City pages note Edo-period records of the stone chamber’s discovery and academic excavation beginning in 1949. Temporary waterproof sheeting currently covers the mound to protect stonework from rain intrusion, and interior access is limited. Confirm viewing rules before you visit.
