Shimane Art Museum

島根県立美術館

Located on the shores of Shinji Lake in Shimane Prefecture, the Shimane Art Museum is designed with a theme of harmony with water. The museum houses approximately 1,600 works by Katsushika Hokusai. Its dedicated Hokusai Gallery features about 40 of these works on permanent display, making it one of the few museums worldwide where a large number of Hokusai pieces can be viewed at any time.
