Located in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Iyahiko Shirine was established in the late Meiji period by individuals who moved from Niigata Prefecture. The shrine is associated with a main shrine in Niigata and enshrines Amenokaguyama-no-Mikoto. In 1934, it received the spirit of Sugawara no Michizane from Dazaifu Tenmangu, leading to its local designation as the Tenjin of Sapporo.
