Akita City Cultural Creation Center occupies the former Akita Prefectural Museum of Art beside Kubota Castle and Senshu Park. Official pages say the distinctive roof and round windows were planned with advice from Leonard Foujita for displaying the mural Akita no Gyoji, and that after the museum moved in 2013 the city renovated the building and opened this creation center on 21 March 2021. It hosts workshops, exhibitions, residencies, and a shop-cafe; confirm hours and Tuesday closures before you visit.
