Sumaura Park in Kobe is a scenic coastal and hillside park of about 104 hectares looking toward Awaji Island, known as a Genpei battlefield site and a cherry-blossom destination. Official pages date its opening to August 1935 after transfers of former imperial forest and roadside pine groves, note free admission, black pine and Somei Yoshino plantings, and links to Sumaura hill amusement and hiking routes.
