Ishizuchi Shrine enshrines Ishizuchi Hiko no Mikoto and is widely revered for household safety, warding off misfortune, and recovery from illness, according to its official site. Mount Ishizuchi, described as western Japan's highest peak at 1,982 meters, has long been known as a mountain of ascetic faith. The shrine complex comprises four related shrines including the main shrine in Saijo, the Achievement Shrine, the Summit Shrine, and the Tsuchigoya Remote Worship Hall. The main shrine is at 797 Nishida-ko, Saijo, Ehime 793-8555, telephone 0897-55-4044.
