Umi no Kōen

Gardens

海の公園

Umi no Koen is Yokohama’s only park with a public swimming beach, opened in 1988 as part of the Kanazawa waterfront landfill project. Official pages describe about one kilometer of shoreline where sand brought from Chiba now supports crabs, clams, and other shore life, with clam digging in spring and busy swimming seasons in summer. Visitors also use beach volleyball courts, windsurfing facilities, the Nagisa Plaza lawn, and barbecue areas. Check event and parking notices before busy summer weekends.
