Former Main Branch of the 59th National Bank

The Former Main Branch of the 59th National Bank is a two-story wooden Renaissance-style building in Hirosaki. City pages note symmetrical design, Aomori keyaki columns and hinoki fittings, and construction led by local master builder Horie Sachi late in his career. Threatened with demolition when a new branch was built in 1965, it was moved intact after local preservation demands and designated an important cultural property in 1972 with its ridge tag.
