Hitachi Kamine Zoo is a city zoo at Miyata-cho 5-2-22 in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, telephone 0294-22-5586. Official pages list summer hours from March through October as 9:00 to 16:30 with last entry at 15:45, and winter hours from November through February as 9:00 to 16:00 with last entry at 15:15. Closed days are Mondays, except spring break, April, May, and summer vacation periods when the zoo stays open daily, plus 31 December and 1 January; when Monday is a holiday the following day is closed. Admission is 520 yen for ages high-school through 64, 100 yen for ages 4 through junior high, and free for ages 3 and under and visitors 65 and over.
