Shima City Museum of History and Folklore

The Shima City Museum of History and Folklore was opened in July 2012 to collect, preserve, and exhibit cultural assets including local festival materials and traditional wisdom. The museum houses materials gathered from the former Isobe Local History Museum and other facilities within the city. It serves as a repository for the region's heritage, which reflects a history of living in harmony with nature since the Paleolithic and Jomon periods.
