Lafcadio Hearn's Former Residence

小泉八雲旧居

Located in Shimane Prefecture, this site served as the residence of Lafcadio Hearn and his wife from June 1891 until their departure for Kumamoto. The property is noted for its garden, which Hearn described in his writings. The grounds retain the atmosphere of the period when he spent time observing the plants and animals within the space.
