Hotaka Local Museum in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture (telephone 0263-83-8844) presents local history, industry, and daily life around the Hotaka area at the foot of the Northern Alps. Official city pages list hours from 9:00 to 17:00. Admission is 100 yen for adults and 80 yen for groups of 20 or more; junior-high students and younger, and Azumino residents aged 70 and older, enter free. Closed on Mondays (the following day when Monday is a holiday), the day after public holidays, and for winter from 28 December through the end of February. Confirm details before travel.
