Located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture, Amatsu Shinmeigū is a Shinto shrine with over 800 years of history. It was founded by Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first Shogun of the Kamakura Bakufu, in 1186. The site is associated with several deified deities including Amaterasu-Okami and Toyouke-Okami.
