Ōuchiyama Zoo is a privately managed zoo located in Ōuchi-yama, Ōki Town. It is notable for housing wild animals such as lions and tigers, which were introduced by the previous director in 1973. Due to modern regulations making it nearly impossible for private facilities to obtain permits for such predators, the zoo holds a rare status. Approximately half of the roughly 400 animals kept on the grounds are those that were rescued from injuries or abandoned due to other facilities closing.
