Tsukahara Ruins in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, preserves a site excavated in fiscal 1987. Outdoors it restores Jomon pit dwellings and kofun-period burial mounds; the exhibition hall explains the ruins and finds. Excavations revealed early, middle, and late Jomon structures and late Kofun features displayed together to express layered land use. The lawn plaza welcomes quiet visits, but pets and ball games are discouraged. Hours are 9:00-16:30 with free admission, closed Mondays except holidays, weekday after holidays with exceptions, and 29 December to 3 January.
