Shiroyama Park covers most of Matsuyama Castle site in central Matsuyama and serves as the city's representative urban park. Matsuyama Castle began construction about 400 years ago under Kato Yoshiaki and retains one of Japan's twelve surviving original keeps. The park is listed among Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots and Top 100 Historical Parks, and much of the area is designated the national historic site Matsuyama Castle Ruins since 1952. It is about a ten-minute walk from Matsuyama Station. Confirm access on the city site.
