Minakata Kumagusu Museum

南方熊楠記念館

Located in Wakayama Prefecture, the Minakata Kumagusu Museum preserves and publicly displays the extensive work of Kumagusu Minakata. A prominent figure in natural history, Minakata was a scholar of botany, mycology, folklore, astronomy, mineralogy, and religion. The museum houses his documents, specimens, and personal belongings donated by his family to honor his diverse research and achievements.
