Hokkaido Museum, nicknamed Mori no Chalenga, is a prefectural general museum introducing the nature, history, and culture of Hokkaido. Official materials say its permanent galleries present five themes under the concepts of Hokkaido within Northeast Asia and the relationship between nature and people. The museum also notes its status as a registered museum under Japan’s Museum Act and offers close-up displays, publications, and Ainu culture learning resources.
