Kushimoto Ōkyo Rosetsu Art Museum

串本応挙芦雪館

Located within the grounds of Muryoji Temple in Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture, the Kushimoto Ōkyo Rosetsu Art Museum is recognized as one of the smallest museums in Japan. The facility consists of two reinforced concrete buildings with five exhibition rooms. It primarily displays early modern paintings by artists such as Ōkyo and Rosetsu. In addition to traditional ink paintings, the museum also features a collection of contemporary sculptures displayed in a space designed to contrast with the traditional works.
