Mie Prefectural Museum

Mie Prefectural Museum (MieMu) opened in 2014, yet it continues a lineage that began with the Mie Prefectural Museum established in 1953, giving the institution more than seventy years of history. The museum presents Mie as a central place on the Japanese archipelago where sea, mountains, and plains shaped daily life, and where east-west travel fostered new and diverse cultures. Visitors come for natural history, local culture, and hands-on learning linked to that regional story.
