Wakamiya Hachiman‑gū

Shinto shrines

若宮八幡宮

Wakamiya Hachiman‑gū in Nirasaki is known locally as Kawarabe-san, the ujigami of the former Kawarabe post town on the Koshu Kaido. Official shrine pages say it was founded around 885–889 (the Ninna era) and that a 1583 landslide destroyed the earlier hall on Shichiri-iwa before relocation. Confirm festival and prayer schedules before you visit.
