Shimane Prefectural Man'yō Park

島根県立万葉公園

Located in the Iwami region of Shimane Prefecture, this prefectural park was opened in September 1982 to convey the romance of the Manyo era. The area is associated with the poet Kakinomoto no Mihito, who lived in the region during the 8th century and contributed many poems to the Man'yoshu anthology. The grounds feature a garden where visitors can view Manyo plants.
