Omi Hino Merchant Museum opened on 3 October 1981 in the former Hino residence of the Yamanaka Hyoemon merchant family, donated to the town. Official pages explain it as Hino Town’s history and folklore museum, with a permanent exhibition on three centuries of Omi Hino merchants known as Kanto Hei, plus several special exhibitions each year.
