Yonezawa’s Primitive Cloth and Ancient Weaving Reference Building is described as Japan’s only reference museum for primitive cloth and ancient weaving. Official pages say it opened on 14 May 1983 from materials used by Masashi Yamamura when he began restoring ancient textiles in the Tohoku region in the Showa 40s, and that it preserves lost cloths and weaving tools; hours are 10:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:00.
