Osu Kannon is a Shingon Buddhist temple in central Nagoya. The temple was moved to its present location by Tokugawa Ieyasu in the early seventeenth century and became closely associated with the surrounding Osu district. It is also known for the Shinpukuji Library, whose collection includes thousands of old Japanese and Chinese texts, while lively shopping streets extend around the temple grounds.
