Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Park stands on Mabuni Hill in Itoman, overlooking the coast near the final battlefield of the Battle of Okinawa. Its memorial facilities include the Peace Memorial Museum, the Cornerstone of Peace inscribed with the names of the war dead, the Peace Memorial Statue, and numerous memorial towers and cemeteries.
